About OH-FINE
The overall objective of OH-FINE - Organic Farming Innovations Network Europe - is to provide European farmers and smallholders with knowledge and tools for competitive organic farming. It focuses on strengthening farmers' capacities while responding to consumers' needs. It promotes sustainable farming practices by adapting to evolving food market trends.

The context
The EU aims to achieve 25% organic production by 2030, as outlined in its Green Deal and Farm to Fork strategy. Achieving this goal will require doubling the current growth rate of organic agriculture, making the transition a complex but urgent process.
The approach
The OH-FINE project supports this goal by creating a network to provide farmers with access to reliable, impartial knowledge for the transition to organic farming. As organic farming is based on knowledge rather than inputs, creating multi-stakeholder networks for innovation and knowledge sharing is essential to support farmers and drive progress.
OH-FINE in a nutshell
OH-FINE is building a pan-European Organic Farming Learning Community to support farmers in conversion to organic farming and beyond. Across 8 countries, this initiative links farmers with advisors, scientists, and a dynamic learning community to exchange knowledge and expertise.

The objectives
Stakeholder mapping
The first objective is to map current organic farming knowledge and practices in five diverse contexts across Ireland, Lithuania, Poland, Bulgaria, and Spain. The focus is on the complexity and competitive advantages of organic producers in each country. The project will identify and utilize the best adaptation strategies, creating alternatives and opportunities in organic farming.
Multidimensional framework
To develop a multidimensional framework to advance organic farming knowledge through co-creation and open innovation. This approach fosters collaboration and knowledge sharing with input from 8 European sub-networks. The multidimensional framework supports the adoption of innovative farming models, assessed for their economic, social, and environmental benefits.
Training and capacity building
The project will facilitate and support the transition to organic agriculture. It will provide training and capacity building for farmers and stakeholders in conversion and post-conversion, creating user-friendly and tailored information materials, and promoting cross-fertilization among stakeholders in different regions.
Decision Support System (DSS) Information Communication Technology (ICT) tool
A tool will be developed to maximize the use and transfer of the project results. The DSS ICT tool will integrate inputs from the multi-actor approach, official data sources, and outputs from the OH-FINE project. It will help farmers to select the best options for organic farming practices.
Enhance outreach through strategic communication and training
The project aims to maximize the outreach and impact of the project results by reaching target users (Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems - AKIS) through a well-established communication and dissemination plan, featuring innovative training modules. These innovative training modules will be implemented in the organic farming stakeholder platform and regional organic farming hubs.
