FCI Chirpan - Field Crops Institute Chirpan

The Field Crops Institute Chirpan, founded in 1925, is part of the Agricultural Academy Sofia, Bulgaria. It focuses on breeding and seed production of cotton and durum wheat, while improving agricultural technology for crops such as sunflower, peas and alfalfa. A key partner for farmers, it has "Science" and "Scientific and Experimental Base" sectors with departments for breeding, technology and crop production. Research covers productivity, stress resistance, environmentally friendly technologies and cost optimization.

Role in the project

The Institute's role in the project is to conduct field trials, produce short videos and act as an information hub for organic farming knowledge in Bulgaria.
