LAMMC - Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry
The Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry (LAMMC) focuses on sustainable management of land, forest, and environmental resources, developing innovative technologies and products. LAMMC conducts national and international research projects, particularly on the impact of agriculture on soil quality. In 2022, it implemented 51 international and 58 national projects, published 153 articles in indexed journals, and employed 476 people, including 166 researchers and 68 doctoral students. It also provides expertise to government institutions and develops open-access infrastructure for collaborative research.
Role in the project
In the project, the LAMMC team is conducting three field trials in an organic system, focusing on grain legumes and cereals, including sowing systems with swards. They are responsible for conducting laboratory analyses to assess soil quality and plant growth. The collected data will be analyzed to evaluate the effectiveness of these sustainable agricultural practices in enhancing soil health and crop productivity, aiming to improve the overall sustainability of organic farming systems.
