LEUA - Lithuanian Organic Farms Association
The Lithuanian Organic Farms Association (LEŪA), established in 2010, is the largest organic farming organization in Lithuania. It promotes organic agriculture, healthy food production, and environmental sustainability. LEŪA unites farmers, producers, traders, scientists, and consumers to encourage organic practices. Its mission is to educate producers and consumers using scientific knowledge, to make organic agriculture a symbol of quality. LEŪA advocates for policy change, supports organic certification, provides training, advises on organic practices, and organizes educational events. It cooperates internationally as a member of IFOAM EU.
Role in the project
LEŪA’s role in the OH-FINE project is to participate in case studies and map the current knowledge, practices, and complexity of organic farming, as well as transfer challenges and barriers to organic conversion. The association will also promote and facilitate organic conversion and strengthen farmers' post-conversion skills through training and capacity building. In addition, LOFA will participate in cross-visits and produce various dissemination materials such as short videos, technical documents, and practice abstracts.
