Work package 2: Project set up, needs assessment, and baseline establishment to inform subsequent work packages

Work package 2 focuses on the following objectives and tasks.

Objectives

Establish a knowledge-sharing network
Identify panel of organic farmers/producers and stakeholders to evaluate AKIS across project partners
Identify knowledge exchange challenges and barriers to transitioning to organic farming
Assess factors impacting producer competitiveness
Identify key knowledge areas and gaps for effective project execution

T.2.1. Selection of producers for 100 case study farms
T.2.2. Design and implementation of data collection instruments with a range of organic sector stakeholders
T2.3. Analyze the structure of the organic AKIS across project partner regions
T.2.4. Analyze the economic competitiveness of organic agribusiness in the case studies
T.2.5. Identify knowledge gaps in organic conversion
T.2.6. Extensive literature review to collate existing research findings
T.2.7. Developing methods to prevent the duplication of efforts with related ongoing or previously completed projects and networks
